Tierra Colibrí was founded in 2021 with a mission to spread cheer using the beauty of flowers. Manuel & Katie Vargas are both from multi-generational family farms (coffee and apples) and have a shared passion for flowers. Manuel is originally from the Antioquia department of Colombia, known for its flower cultivation. Flowers have always brought a sense of their roots in Colombia to home in Michigan, and after years of dedicating their free time to floral cultivation in their landscaping, they set aside a 1/4 acre parcel to cut flower production.

Manuel & Katie began with the idea of growing enough flowers to share with family and friends but quickly realized they could reach many others and donated weekly buckets of colorful blooms throughout their community in 2021.

After a successful year of growing & giving, Tierra Colibrí was formed and now offers flowers locally to the Grand Rapids, MI area.
